Ardmore is a popular seaside resort just minutes away from my studio. It is also steeped in history. This painting features the Round Tower, one of the best preserved in all ireland; bearing that in mind I tried to paint it as straight as I could! Serious now, the tower provided an ideal focal point for this painting, the recession for which relies greatly on a diminishing saturation for the colours used as they move towards the horizon.
